"Status... Pending" is an exploration about what people in the Bangladeshi Koreatown community think about citizenship, as seen by Bangladeshi youth. As a young community, with some coming as early as 1970s, some as recent as last year, there are over 10,000 Bangladeshis living in K-town and Los Angeles. Given the anti-immigrant sentiment on people of color, youth first found it important to ask people in the community "what citizenship means to you?" After many interviews, however, the youth began to realize that there is no easy question to ask when thinking about a heavy topic like "citizenship" as the experiences by community members challenge the very idea of being a citizen.

"Our America" follows a realistic yet fictitious day in the life of Stephanie and Ana, two Latina youth from South and East LA. They take us with them as they apply for a job and come across some unexpected hang-ups and inequalities that are part of the experiences of immigrants in the US.
About Dilemmas + Decisions
Dilemmas + Decisions explores real-life dilemmas of freedom and democracy as experienced and conceived by youth media groups, based on issues affecting their communities.
Youth from South Asian Network, Films by Youth Inside, and Women's Creative Collective reflect on the rich diversity in community, ethnicity, and points of view in the Los Angeles area. As seen through the eyes of young people, Dilemmas + Decisions captures the process of youth exploring issues of concern to them, and exercising their first amendment right to freedom of expression.
Parking Information:
Metered parking is available in the surrounding areas of Little Tokyo. Several public lots are available on 1st, Central, and Alameda streets.
