Democracy Forum
description:
In collaboration with Media That Matters, the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy, and other Los Angeles nonprofit groups*, Freewaves will screen contemporary works by youth that address political, economic, and social issues.
The program is based around the Sixth Annual Media That Matters Film Festival, a showcase for short films on the most important topics of the day: local, global, online and in communities around the world. The sixth festival covers everything from race, gender, gay rights, poverty in both the developing and developed worlds, to the effects of energy costs on communities, community based economies, Wal-Mart, media advertising, criminal youth and youth in the military.
Freewaves, the National Center and their collaborators invite everyone to see how our youngest generation views the current issues affecting the world. The screening and speak out will be free!
If you want to know more about the Media That Matters Film Festival and the Too Much Freedom? new media festival, please see www.mediathatmattersfest.org/6 and www.freewaves.org/festivals .
