Democracy in Action Program

"Democracy in Action" is a National Center program that promotes collaboration, critical thinking, research, and participation. Youth apply their skills to tackle real life issues they have identified to be of importance within their communities.

Fighting for Democracy Exhibition

Fighting for Democracy is an innovative, interactive exhibition based on the lived, actions, and decisions of a diverse group of individuals who sought equal rights for their families and communities during World War II.

Dilemmas + Decisions

Dilemmas +Decisions are youth-produced short video essays about real-life issues of democracy. The accompanying viewer’s guide provides questions for discussion.

Project Portfolios

A showcase of work done by students, classroom and community educators, and others who have been inspired by their participation with the National Center.

Discussion Boards

Students can participate in or read discussions about current events, student projects, or democracy news and views.

Personal Weblogs

Online journaling tools allow students to record and share their personal insights into the democratic process.

Interactive Polls

Youth can vote in anonymous polls on current events, democracy issues, education, and other topics.
